We improved the customer service level in terms of lead-time reduction and schedule adherence with this UK based maintenance division of a major aerospace manufacturer. We used our experience of cellular manufacture and mini-businesses to restructure the maintenance facilities. Cells are now based around the unit type they service. They have the right resources and are responsible for their own customer schedule management, supply chain management, capacity and work management, team development and costs. They are as far as possible, responsible for their own level of success.
